Both our audiologists provide hearing evaluations, hearing aids, custom earmolds, and many diagnostic audiological services to the adult and pediatric populations. In addition, East Tennessee Hearing Center is a clinical site for East Tennessee State University graduate students obtaining the Doctor of Audiology degree. Our Audiologists provide clinical supervision for the program.
Mary Lee Bagwell established East Tennessee Hearing Center in 1985. Prior to opening her private practice, she served the region working with several Otolaryngologists (ENT’s) and establishing the Hearing Center at Holston Valley Medical Center in Kingsport, Tenn., which was a part of the Mountain Region Speech and Hearing Center.
Meredith Miller began her career at the Pittsburg Eye and Ear Hospital in Pittsburg, Penn. She spent many years as a clinical audiologist which included Intra-operative surgical monitoring, Cochlear Implants and Vestibular studies. She moved to Northeast Tennessee in 2001 and continued with her audiology career. Her passion for working with the hearing impaired was inspired by growing up with a father who is deaf.
David Bagwell, Office Manager
David Bagwell, a veteran who served in the United States Army, is a retired IBM Computer Programmer and Systems Engineer. He is currently self-employed as a consultant. Bagwell assists his wife, Mary Lee in the operation of the business, bringing to the practice the skills necessary to keep up with the technology demands of the industry. As a hearing-impaired client, Bagwell provides the audiologists valuable insights they can use to improve their skills and services.
Linda Bready, Administrative Assistant
Linda Bready holds a Bachelor of Arts in Medical Technology from the University of Maine. Her impressive array of skills can be credited to her career at New England Baptist Hospital in Boston, Mass. Through her experience she provides extensive knowledge in medical technology. Bready’s primary role in the office is initial client contact, coordinating appointments, insurance liaison, data entry, and insuring organized operation of the practice.
Tessa Carey, Staff Assistant
Tessa Carey assists Linda as our initial client contact and handles numerous tasks that need special attention. Being hearing-impaired herself, Carey has a special sense of the needs of our clientele and assists patients through the process.
