In 1997, Mary Lee was invited to work with ComCare International, an international Christian Ministry to the hearing impaired, to help establish a hearing clinic in Guadalajara, Mexico ministering to the indigent hearing impaired. Since then, she and David have been to Mexico, Honduras, and Bolivia twelve times in support of ComCare’s work. David serves as the technology director of ComCare International and he and Mary Lee are board members.
Mary Lee has been a Rotarian for the past 25 years and is a member of the Who’s Who of Professional Women. She is a former president of the Johnson City Junior Monday Club, former board member of the Johnson City Public Library, served eight years as Washington Co, Tenn. County commissioner, former member of the Johnson City Monday Club, won the State of Tennessee Parent-Advisor of the year for Tennessee Infant Parent Services (TIPS). In addition, she was a former special education adult worship service instructor at First Broad Street United Methodist Church in Kingsport, Tenn. and currently teaches a Women’s Bible Study.
Meredith and her family traveled to Haiti with the American Haitian Foundation, which is dedicated to working with Haitians to improve their future by providing a quality education. Miller is a former school board member, Youth Ambassador Host Family for Partners of the Americas and volunteers for Family Promise of Johnson City.
